Judge H. Steven Brown of Casper, WY; incompetent loser

The state of Wyoming presented H. Steven Brown with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from the University of Wyoming School of Law.

FYI: Former Gov. Jim Geringer was duped into appointing Brown as a District Court judge in 1998. Brown didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Casper area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The most recent retention evaluation conducted by the Wyoming State Bar Association Judicial Advisory Poll resulted in the following results for Judge Brown.

• Knowledge of the law: 36.9% disapprove or strongly disapprove
• Application of rules of evidence and procedures: 39.5% disapprove or strongly disapprove
• How well decisions reasoned/clearly expressed: 35.9% disapprove or strongly disapprove

And lastly, the opinions of the attorneys polled clearly indicate that political appointments of judges in Wyoming and elsewhere are a recipe for having someone of Brown’s ilk ascending to the bench.

As we speak (ca. May 2022), Brown continues to dispense his so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Natrona County 7^th Judicial District Court judge in Casper, Wyoming.
