Attorney Michael Mitchell of Upper Marlboro, MD; ethical goblin

The state of Maryland presented Michael Anthony Mitchell with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to adequately communicate with his client
• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Disclosed confidential client information
• Accepted a payment from his client via PayPal and failed to ensure those funds were deposited directly into his attorney trust account and maintained until earned
• Failed to send an invoice to his client during the pendency of his representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), Mikey practices his so-called brand of law with the Prince George’s County Office of Education at 14201 School Lane in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
