Attorney Michele Harris of Laplata, MD; moronic slacker

The state of Maryland presented Michele Renee Harris with a law license in 1999 after she graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Michele guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to recognize a conflict of interest
  • Failed to uphold her duty to a former client
  • Failed to properly supervise a non-attorney assistant
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Prepared a power of attorney and deed for an elderly client and failed to conduct a sufficient investigation of the appropriateness, need, or reasons for the new deed and power of attorney

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme punished Michele by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), Michele practices her so-called brand of law with the Law Office of Michele R. Harris in Laplata, Maryland.
