Attorney James Bosworth of Hoboken, NJ; ethical misfit

The state of New Jersey presented James L. Bosworth with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Involved in prohibited business transaction with a client
  • Failed to advise his client in writing of the desirability of seeking the advice of independent counsel
  • Failed to obtain his client’s informed written consent to the essential terms of the transaction

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), Jimmy practices his so-called brand of law at 311 Willow Avenue in Hoboken, New Jersey.
