Judge C. Carter Williams of Moorefield, WV; ethical troll

The State of West Virginia presented C. Carter Williams with a law license in 2020 after he graduated from the University of West Virginia School of Law.

The West Virginia Judicial Investigation Commission found Brent guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Carter complained about the Moorefield officer who pulled him over to a police lieutenant, the police chief, the retired police chief and the mayor
  • During his interaction with the officer, Carter spoke in an “angry tone” and argued about the basis for the traffic stop
  • Carter was quick to identify himself as a judge and told the officer that he was holding his cellphone because he just found it in his car after losing it
  • The officer didn’t issue a ticket for the cellphone violation based on the direction of the police lieutenant he had called
  • A check indicated that Carter was also driving on an expired license
  • The officer who stopped Carter was African American
  • When complaining about the officer to supervisors, Carter referred to him as “your boy” and “one of your boys”
  • The police chief later ticketed Williams for improper use of a cellphone and driving on an expired license

Judge Williams’ run-ins with local Walmart store

  • Carter scanned about 10 items at a Walmart self-checkout in August 2021 and then left without paying
  • Failed to pay for self-scanned items valued at $300 at a Walmart in July 2020

In a lame effort at levity, Carter claimed the two incidents came about because he was distracted when it came time to pay for the items. Clearly, Carter missed his calling as a Standup Comedian.

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Carter by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the West Virginia Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. May 2022), Carter practices his so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Hardy County 22nd Judicial Circuit Judge in Moorefield, West Virginia.
