Attorney Richard Sand of St. Paul, MN; convicted felon, repeater

The state of Minnesota presented Richard A. Sand with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Hamline University School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Dick guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Dick’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Improperly disbursed funds from his trust account
  • Commingled nonfiduciary funds in his trust account
  • Failed to adequately maintain required financial books and records
  • Falsely certified to Minnesota Supreme Court that his books and records were being properly maintained
  • Misrepresented to Minnesota Attorney General’s office that he had not been paid any legal fees by a certain corporation in which he had an interest, which in fact he had been paid more than $20,000 by said corporation
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Dick!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $750.00.

Dick’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Convicted of aiding and abetting wire fraud
  • Convicted of engaging in a monetary transaction in criminally derived property
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 5-year suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $900.00.

As we speak (ca. March 2022), Dick practices his so-called brand of law at 332 Minnesota Street in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
