Former Judge Mark Watts of Pascagoula, MS; scofflaw

The state of Mississippi provided Mark H. Watts with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance found Mark found Charlie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a judge of the Berkeley County Magistrate Court.

  • Improperly made appearances or filed motions in nine (9) court cases more than six (6) months after he assumed his judicial office on January 1, 2019
  • Mississippi law prohibits county court judges from practicing in their county’s courts except as necessary to wrap up a law practice within 6 months of assuming office
  • On July1, 2019 Mark filed a complaint for contempt and modification as counsel in Shields v Fountain
  • In mid-July 1029, Mark appeared as counsel in In re Estate of Pollard
  • On September 3, 2019, Mark appeared as counsel in Neese v Neese
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Brought his judicial office into disrepute

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Mississippi Supreme Court punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and fined him $2,500.00.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), Mark practices his so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Jackson County Court Judge, Place Two in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
