Former Judge Steven Teske of Tucson, AZ; ethical misfit

The State of Georgia presented Steven Cecil Teske with a law license in 2014 after he graduated from Duke University School of Law.

The Judicial Qualifications Commission found Stevie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as Clayton County Juvenile Court judge.

  • Improperly made media posts that amounted statements of public support for certain political positions
  • Stevie’s conduct support political positions could have negatively impacted public confidence in Stevie’s ability to remain independent and impartial
  • Failed to avoid impropriety or the appearance of impropriety
  • Allowed other activities to take precedence over his official judicial duties

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, Stevie agreed to resign his judicial office and agree to never again seek any judicial position in Georgia for the balance of his life.

As we speak (ca. March 2022), Stevie practices his so-called brand of law with the Pascua Yaqui Pueblo Nation Prosecutor’s Office in Tucson, Arizona.
