Attorney Joseph Morton III of New Orleans, LA; ethical gremlin

The state of Louisiana presented Joseph B. Morton III with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Law.

The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board found Joey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Negligently engaged in improper billing practices
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted, or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, misrepresentation, or dishonesty

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Joey.

As we speak (ca. February 2022) Joey practices his so-called brand of law with Mitchell & Associates APLC at 615 Baronne Street in New Orleans, Louisiana.
