Attorney D. Michael Cherry of Mount Clemens, MI; ethical misfit

The state of Michigan presented D. Michael Cherry with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the University of Michigan School of Law.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #103 found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct

  • Engaged in conduct exposing legal profession to contempt, censure, or reproach
  • Engaged in conduct involving violation of a criminal law
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Michigan Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed costs of $899.25

As we speak (ca. February 2022), Mikey practices his so-called brand of law at 134 Market Street in Mount Clemens, Michigan.
