Solicitor Fung Frederick of Hong Kong; ethical troll

The Law Society of Hong Kong presented Fung Lai Yin Frederick with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from the University of Hong Kong School of Law.

The Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Fung guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Understated the gross fee income of his firm for the indemnity for four separate years
• Failed to keep proper accounting records for three separate years
• Gave inconsistent or untrue explanations to and misled the Law Society in its investigations of Fung’s professional misconduct of the understatement of his firm’s gross income
• Failed to properly supervise office staff

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal punished Fung by gifting him with a complimentary censure, and fined HK$425,000 ($54,500.00 US).

As we speak (ca. January 2022), Fung practices his so-called brand of law at 71 Des Voeux Road in Central, Hong Kong.
