Judge Michael Murray of Santa Ana, CA; ethical troll

The State of California provided Michael Murray with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law.

FYI: Mikey has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past twenty-eight (28) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Sacramento and/or Orange County areas was about to offer Mikey a good paying job.

The California Commission on Judicial Performance is investigating Mikey for engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as prosecutor.

  • Failed as a prosecutor to disclose that police reports had been fabricated in a murder case involving the death of a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy
  • Violated disclosure laws and used the falsified CHP (California Highway Patrol) reports to convict a former Long Beach man, Cole Wilkins for causing the traffic death of Deputy David Piquette, who was driving to work in July 2006
  • Mike was the main prosecutor on the case and was told of the fabrications and forgeries by a CHP Sergeant
  • Mikey knowingly and intentionally violated his obligations under the Supreme Court case of Brady v. Maryland, which mandates the disclosure of evidence favorable to the accused that is material either to guilt or punishment
  • Mikey was notified several times during the Wilkins case by different parties that CHP traffic reports had been doctored
  • A CHP investigator told Mikey that officers there didn’t believe Wilkins should be prosecuted for murder
  • Mikey was even confronted by an Orange County Register reporter and a deputy district attorney, Larry Yellin, who had taken over the case.
  • Mikey had the chutzpah to deny to Yellin, who is now a judge, that he knew anything about reports being falsified
  • Mikey knowingly failed in his duty to investigate the forgeries and turn over any exculpatory evidence to the defense team
  • Violated the California Constitution

All that remains now is to what if any punishment is meted out to Mikey by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the California Judicial Commission.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), Mikey continues to dispense his so-called idea of justice as an Orange County Superior Court judge in Santa Ana, California.
