Judge Richard Lemons of Portsmouth, OH; ethical troll

The state of Ohio presented Richard Alan Lemons with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the University of Akron School of Law.

Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Dick guilty of the following conduct.

  • Failed to uphold the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to perform all judicial duties fairly and impartially
  • Improperly investigated facts in a pending matter
  • Considered evidence that was not properly presented to the court
  • Failed to disqualify himself when disqualification was mandatory
  • Remained on a case when his impartiality might reasonably be questioned
  • Refused to remove himself from a case when it was obvious, he had a personal bias or prejudice concerning a party or a party’s lawyer involved in said matter
  • Engaged in an independent investigation of litigant’s residence involving a child custody matter

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Dick by the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. February 2022), Dick practices his so-called brand of jurisprudence as a Scioto County Court of Common Pleas Judge in Portsmouth, Ohio.
