Attorney Donald Melancon of New Orleans; cheating loser

The state of Louisiana presented Donald Joseph Melancon with a law license in 2005 after he graduated from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Donnie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Misused client trust account
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Converted client funds to his personal use (cheater)
  • Improperly solicited or obtained a power of attorney or mandate from a client which would authorize Donnie,
  • without first obtaining the client’s informed consent to settle client claims
  • Improperly shared 50% of his attorney fees for referral of clients to his firm
  • Failed to safeguard client property
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Donnie by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. January 2022) Arthur practices with the Law Offices of Donald J Melancon LLC at 701 Loyola Avenue in New Orleans, Louisiana.
