Attorney Gladys Clayton of Raleigh, NC; ethical dwarf

The state of North Carolina presented Gladys Nicole Clayton with a law license in 2005 after she graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Gladys guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to ensure that her law firm’s trust account was timely reconciled
• Made numerous inaccurate statements to the State Bar concerning reconciliations of the trust account based upon information submitted by the firm member
• Firm did not have any quarterly reconciliations for the firm's trust account for the preceding year
• Her firm had only three-monthly reconciliations for the firm's trust account for the preceding year
• Firm failed to identify the client for which cash deposits were made into the trust account
• Firm occasionally failed to indicate on trust account checks the client from whose funds in the trust account the trust account check was drawn

As a direct consequence of her misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Gladys by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2022), Gladys practices her so-called brand of law with Knott & Boyle PLLC at 4800 Six Forks Blvd in Raleigh, North Carolina.
