Attorney Steven Plaisted of Gaithersburg, MD; ethical troll

The state of Maryland presented Steven Bernard Plaisted with a law license in 2008 after he graduated from Georgetown University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Stevie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Counseled a client to engage or assisting a client in conduct that Stevie knew was criminal or fraudulent
  • Acted as advocate at a hearing in which Stevie was likely to be a necessary witness
  • Engaged in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Erroneously advised his client that it would be legal and appropriate for him to contact his estranged wife even
  • though the conditions of his client’s probation prohibited him from doing so
  • Agreed to represent his client at a hearing for a final protective order in which Stevie was a
  • material witness because he participated in, and had personal knowledge of, the events which
  • precipitated his client’s wife’s petition for a protective order

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2022), Stevie practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Office of Steven Plaisted at 113 Billingsgate Lane in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
