Magistrate Judge Jerry Rivers of Florence, SC; bullying loser

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Jerry guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Challenged chief magistrate’s COVID-19 safety plan for reopening
  • Became visibility agitated during meeting held to discuss the safety plan to reopen magistrates’ courts in Florence County
  • During COVID meeting, Jerry began asking questions repeatedly, speaking in a loud voice
  • After the meeting, Jerry confronted the magistrate who suggested he follow the Chief Magistrate’s directions
  • A month later, Jerry told a Florence County clerk that the chief magistrate “does not know who she is dealing with, and she will regret” reporting him to the disciplinary counsel
  • Failed to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker) in discharge of administrative duties
  • Failed to cooperate with other judges and court officials in the administration of court business

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension from the bench, effective February, 2021. This means Jerry will be back practicing his so-called brand of jurisprudence in February 2022.

As we speak (ca. August 2021), it is rumored that Jerry has applied for as a doorman/bouncer at the Ponytails Gentlemen’s Club at 1617 West Lucas Street in Florence, South Carolina.
