Solicitor Peter Simpson of New South Wales; ethical goblin

The Law Society presented Peter Kaiser Simpson with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Dalhousie University School of Law.

The Queensland Civil and Administrative found Pete guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in unsatisfactory Professional Conduct
  • Failed to retain certain trust money to be deposited into general trust account
  • Failed to hold, disburse, and account for trust money
  • Breached Section 140(3) & (4) of the Legal Profession Act 2004
  • Failed to properly supervise office employees

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Queensland Bar punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and imposed a fine of $8,000.00.

As we speak (ca. August 2021), Pete practices his brand of law with P K Simpson & Co. Pty Limited at 162 Goulburn Street in Sydney, New South Wales.
