Attorney Daniel Thompson of Ontario, CAN; ethical dwarf

The Law Society of Upper Canada provided Daniel John Thompson with a license in 1908 after he graduated from the Queens University School of Law.

The Upper Canada Law Society Disciplinary Committee found Danny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to promptly notice malpractice insure of client claim brought against him in the Superior Court of Justice
• Engaged in a conflict of interest by acting for both the transferors and transferees in registration of a transfer of real property
• In representing clients with conflicting interests, failed to obtain their written consent to so act
• Failed to disclose material information to his lender client regarding a ‘decorating credit’ to the borrower

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the enablers for Attorney Misconduct sitting on the Law Society Disciplinary Board punished Danny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2021), Danny practices his so-called brand of law with the Thompson Law Office at 67 Main Street in Brighton, Ontario, Canada.
