Attorney Rupinder Garcha of Ontario, CAN; serial slacker

The Law Society of Upper Canada provided Rupinder Garcha with a license in 2004 after she graduated from the University of Ottawa School of Law.

The Upper Canada Law Society Disciplinary Committee found Rupinder guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Breached duty of client confidentiality
  • Engaged in conflict of interest involving a husband and wife
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to deliver client file for nine months after being terminated
  • Engaged in the illegal practice of law while license suspended
  • Failed to advise her clients that he license had been suspended
  • For more than two-and-a-half years, the respondent failed to serve three clients in a purchase and mortgage transaction
  • Failed to register a mortgage in client’s favor
  • Failed to timely report to three clients the closing of their purchase and mortgage transaction
  • For fifteen months, failed to serve her clients in a mortgage refinance transaction
  • Failed to register mortgage in client’s favor for 11 months
  • For at least four months failed to respond to client communications

As a direct consequence of her misconduct the enablers for Attorney Misconduct sitting on the Law Society Disciplinary Board punished Rupinder by gifting her with a complimentary 4-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2021), Rupinder practices her so-called brand of law in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
