Attorney Andrew Rogerson of Ontario, CAN; potty mouth sexual harasser

The Law Society of Upper Canada provided Andrew Gordon Rogerson with a license in 1995 after he graduated from the University of Ottawa School of Law.      

The Upper Canada Law Society Disciplinary Committee found Andy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in sexual harassment and/or discriminatory conduct towards female employees over 16-month period of time
• Discussed matters of a sexual nature in a non-professional capacity in front of female employees
• Made comments about the breasts and physical appearances of female employees
• Made comments about the breasts and physical appearance of a client of the Respondent’s firm
• Made comments that suggested the worth of a female employee corresponded to the size of her breasts
• Used gendered expletives to describe a female employee to another female employee
• Sent an email to two female employees that contained a gendered expletive to describe another woman
• Sent email correspondence to a client that was abusive, offensive, or otherwise inconsistent with the proper tone of a professional communication from a lawyer
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to be courteous, civil, and to act in good faith with other persons
• Acted aggressively, made disparaging comments, and yelled/raised his voice unnecessarily during meetings with a client’s husband and/or father regarding a dispute related to legal fees
• Delayed in providing necessary information regarding client’s husband’s immigration application during a dispute related to legal fees to the potential prejudice of the client
• Failed to conduct himself in a way that maintains the integrity of the profession
• Falsified client signature on retainer agreement himself or arranged for a member of his staff to falsify the signature

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Andy by the enablers for Attorney Misconduct sitting on the Law Society Disciplinary Board.
