Attorney Shirley Henry of Ontario, CAN; ethical goblin

The Law Society of Upper Canada provided Shirley Joyce Virginia Henry with a license in 1995 after she graduated from the University of Ottawa School of Law.      

The Upper Canada Law Society Disciplinary Committee found Shirley guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Held herself out as an affiliate partner of the Hong Kong Capital Group (HKCG) firm even though she knew did not have any such legitimate role
• Knowingly mislead her client about her affiliation with HKCGH
• Fabricated a document purportedly given to her client in response to ethics investigation in her facilitation of client investment in HKCG (Screw you, said Shirley!)
• Failed to act with integrity
• Participated HKCG’s fraudulent scheme, either knowingly, or by failing to be on guard, resulting in financial loss to her client
• Improperly borrowed $5,000 from a client who was neither a related person nor a regulated lender
• Engaged in professional misconduct
• Engaged in a conflict of interest

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Shirley by the enablers for Attorney Misconduct sitting on the Law Society Disciplinary Board.
