► Former Queens New York prosecutor Charles Testagrossa; ethical ogre

The state of New York provided Charles A. Testagrossa with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from Fordham University School of Law.

In one matter, Charlie was involved in the prosecution of George Bell, Gary Johnson, and Rohan Bolt were convicted of the 1996 murders of a check-cashing store owner and an off-duty police officer in East Elmhurst.

In early May 2021, Judge Joseph Zayas ruled that Bell, Johnson, and Bolt had been wrongfully convicted because Charlie made false statements at their trial and failed to turn over critical evidence that pointed to alternative suspects in the high-profile case.

After the stinging rebuke by Judge Zayas, Charlie did what most dishonest and cowardly District Attorneys do, he resigned from his high-ranking positions in the Nassau County and Queen District Attorney’s Offices.

If there is truly equal justice in this world, then Charlie should be criminally prosecuted and ordered to serve the same twenty-three (23) years in prison that his despicable conduct caused Bell, Johnson, and Bolt to serve for a crime they apparently did not commit.

All that remains now is to see what if anything the State Bar does in sanctioning Charlie and what the District Attorney does in criminally prosecuting Charlie.

As we speak (ca. July 2021), Charlie practices his so-called brand of law in Nassau County, New York.
