Attorney Byron Cooper of Palo Alto, CA; convicted criminal

The state of California presented Byron Cooper with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law.

The California State Bar Court found Byron guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Santa Clara County DA’s office filed a Felony Complaint charging Byron with knowingly and maliciously preventing and dissuading and attempting to prevent and dissuade a witness and victim from making a report where the act was accompanied by force, a felony (later reduced to a misdemeanor)
  • Santa Clara County DA’s office charged Byron with prowling and wandering upon the private property of another and peeking in the door and window of an inhabited building, a misdemeanor (subsequently peeking portion of charge dismissed)
  • Was convicted (pled no contest) of knowingly and maliciously preventing or dissuading a witness from giving testimony
  • Convicted (pled no contest) of prowling upon the private property of another without lawful business
  • Was convicted (pled no contest) of knowingly and maliciously preventing or dissuading a witness from giving testimony
  • Convicted (pled no contest) of disturbing the peace
  • Bryon’s conduct involved moral turpitude insofar as he knowingly and maliciously dissuaded a witness and victim

Byron was sentenced to 3-years’ probation, ordered to perform 100 hours of volunteer work, participate in anger management, and get psychiatric counseling as directed by the probation department.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Byron by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

And lastlyas one would suspect, Byron and fails to mention the criminal convictions and misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.TekLaw.com.  Apparently, he decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that it would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. June 2021), Byron practices his brand of law with TekLaw at 380 Hamilton Avenue in Palo Alto, California.
