Attorney Royce Turner of Des Moines, IA; dimwit, slacker

The state of Iowa provided Royce D. Turner with a law license in 2013 after he graduated from Drake University School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Royce guilty of engaging in the following misconduct

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Charged an unreasonable fee (cheater)
  • Made false claims about bankruptcy client
  • Failed to provide competent representation (dimwit)
  • Engaged in numerous trust account violations
  • Involved in lack of candor in dealing with a tribunal
  • Failed to expedite client litigation
  • Failed to communicate with a client

Additionally, Royce has failed to pay court-ordered sanctions, fines, and costs and owes the following amounts: Fred Leaming $497.50, Steve Cummings $875.00, Laura Cummings $875.00, Kelly Willard $1000.00, Walter Anhorn $1000.00, Lasandra Kearney $800.00, Mahaska County court costs $260.00, Story County jury costs $1920.75, Story County fine $500.00, Polk County fine of $250.00, for a grand total of $7978.25.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Sean by gifting him with a complimentary 20-week suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Royce practices his brand of law with the Turner Law Office at 300 Walnut Street in Des Moines, Iowa.
