Attorney Richard Funk of Philippines; ethical misfit

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Richard V. Funk with a law license in 1965 after he graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Law.

The Committee on Bar Discipline found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Represented clients with conflicting interests
  • Failed to obtain written consent from his client regarding conflict after providing them with a full disclosure of all relevant facts

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Republic of the Philippines Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 1-month suspension of his law license and issued a warning that similar conduct in the future would be dealt with more severely.

As we speak (ca. July 2021), Dick practices his brand of law in Manila, Philippines.
