Attorney James Gupana of Philippines; scofflaw

The Philippine Supreme Court provided James Joseph Gupana with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Law.

The Committee on Bar Discipline found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Violated his notary duties when he failed to require the presence of Candelaria Magpayo when he notarized the Affidavit of Loss which Candelaria allegedly executed
• Clear that jurat was made in violation of the notarial law

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Republic of the Philippines Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license and a warning that similar conduct in the future would be dealt with more severely.

As we speak (ca. July 2021), Jimmy practices his brand of law in Cebu City, Philippines.
