Judge Larry Hartwell of Lyons, NY; ethical troll

The New York Commission on Judicial Conduct found Larry guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a Justice of the Lyons Town Court in Wayne County, New York.

• Repeatedly engaged in unauthorized ex parte (one-sided) communications involving small claims litigation
• Misconduct gave the appearance that Larry was biased when adjudicating small claim cases

Rather await punishment that would likely have caused his removal from the bench, Larry took the cowards way out and resigned his positions as a Justice of both the Arcadia Town Court and the Newark Village Court, in Wayne County on or about April 9, 2021.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), it is rumored that Larry has applied as a greeter at the Walmart Supercenter Store at 6788 State Route 31 East in Newark, New York.
