Judge Tracie Todd of Birmingham, AL; ethical troll

The state of Alabama presented Tracie Todd with a law license in 2007 after she graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law.

FYI: Tracie has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the fourteen (14) years after receipt of her law license. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Birmingham area was about to offer Tracie a good paying job.

The Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission has charged Tracie with engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in multiple incidents of abuse of judicial power
• Involved in the abandonment of her judicial role of detachment and neutrality
• Interfered with district attorney’s prosecutorial discretion
• Lack of faithfulness to the law or failure to maintain professional competence in the law
• Failed to timely cooperate with other courts
• Failed to respect orders of other courts in the administration of court business
• Advocating for defendants, issues and/or own rulings
• Denial of litigant’s full right to be heard (aka, due process)
• Violated the Canons of Judicial Ethics when she gave a radio interview about several capital murder cases pending in her court
• Repeatedly abused her authority by thumbing her nose at rulings emanating from the Alabama Supreme Court (Screw them, said Tracie!)
• Improperly banished a particular deputy district attorney from practicing before her
• Lacked proper judicial temperament and demeanor toward the district attorney’s office and its attorneys
• Failed to disqualify herself in matters where disqualification was mandatory
• Lacked proper judicial temperament and demeanor

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Tracie by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Alabama Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Tracie was suspended from the bench “with pay” pending a ruling by the Supreme Court. This means that Tracie will be earning $3,173 per week compliments of the overtaxed citizens of Alabama.
