Attorney Sebastian Joy of Catlettsburg, KY; cheating liar

The state of Kentucky presented Sebastian Midhun Joy with a law license in 1988 after she graduated from Appalachian University Law School.

FYI:  Appalachian University School of Law is ranked as the 158^th best law school in the country out of 202 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools

The Kentucky Bar Association found Sebastian guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to provide client with written fee agreement
• Failed to advise client of basis or rate of his fee and expenses
• Lied to ethics investigators that client could not sign fee agreement because Fayette County Detention Center would not allow him to provide it to his client (Screw you, said Sebastian!)
• Billed client for meeting him at Fayette County Detention Center even though no records exist of said meeting
• Charged client excessive fees (cheater)
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of legal matter
• Upon being terminated failed to take steps to protect client’s interests

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kentucky Supreme Court punished Sebastian by gifting him with a complimentary 181-day suspension of his law license.  

And lastly, as one would suspect, Sebastian does not mention the misconduct set forth above on his website at www.joylawoffice.com. Apparently, Sebastian and his firm chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting their future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Sebastian practices his so-called brand of law with the Joy Law Office at 2701 Louisa Street in Catlettsburg, Kentucky.
