Attorney Keith Jarrett of Jamaica; ethical troll

The Jamaica Licensing Commission provided Keith A. Jarrett with a law license in 1989.

The Disciplinary Committee of the General Legal Counsel found Keith guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failure to follow up with opposing counsel about case management conference resulted in default judgment being entered against his client
  • Failed to take appropriate steps to ensure he was aware of the status of the case management conference
  • Failed to file motion to set aside default judgment against his client in timely fashion
  • Failed to properly service opposing party with copy of motion to set aside default judgment which caused the court to reject is and being entirely inconsistent with the rules of civil procedure
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of mater
  • Failed to attend case management conferences on behalf of his client
  • Lied that he kept his client informed of the status of his legal matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Committee punished Keith by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Harry practices his brand of law in Kingston, Jamaica.
