State Sen. Gene Sullentrop of Kansas; drunken felon

Gene succeeded in duping the voters in and around the greater Wichita area into electing him as a member of the Kansas State Senate.

In one matter, Gene was recently involved in a drunk driving escapade that included him engaging in the following conduct.

  • Got behind the wheel of a vehicle while drunk
  • Led police officers on a dangerous wrong-wage chase
  • Charged with reckless driving
  • Arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Charged with fleeing police officers to avoid arrest, a felony
  • Refused to take breathalyzer test
  • Called one of the arresting officers “donut boy”
  • Taken to hospital where blood alcohol level was .17 while legal limit is .08

All that remains now is to see how long it takes for Gene to cop a plea to reduce the amount of time he’ll likely or at least should be spending at the Sedgwick County Detention Center in Wichita.

Despite initially refusing to step down as the Senate Majority Leader, Gene had no choice but to resign after being subjected to pressure to do so by his fellow legislators.

It is rumored that in the event Gene decides to resign from the Senate that he is in the process of preparing for that eventuality by applying for a job as a greeter at the Walmart Supercenter Store at 11411 East Kellogg Drive in Wichita, Kansas.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Gene continues to sit (while sober) as a Kansas State Senator.
