Former Judge Robert Beltrani of Smithtown, NY; convicted harasser

The state of New York provided Robert V. Beltrani with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from Queen’s University School of Law in Belfast.

The Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department found Bobby guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as an Administrative Law Judge for the Department of Corrections when he presided over parole revocation hearings at the Judicial Center at Rikers Island.

In one matter, while celebrating a friend's newly launched law firm at a place in Manhattan, an event that a Legal Aid attorney [S.R.] also attended. Around midnight, Bobby who was intoxicated at the time, exited the building and began talking to [S.R.].  

Bobby was standing against the building, and at one point he took a step towards [S.R.], and [S.R.] extended his arm towards Bobby and touched him on the chest. Bobby then threw a single punch at [S.R.]'s head. [S.R.] fell to the ground and Bobby fell on top of him. Respondent immediately stood up and left."

Bobby subsequently pleaded guilty to harassment in the second degree.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Bobby practices his brand of law at 1038 West Jericho Turnpike in Smithtown, New York.
