Attorney Rebecca S. Blair of Cleveland; disgusting crook
The state of Ohio presented Rebecca Susan Blair with a law license in 1986 after she graduated from Ohio Northern University Law School, a third tier school for those who couldn’t get accepted at the Univ. of Toledo, Ohio State or Cincinnati.
In early 2011 Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Rebecca guilty of the following misconduct.
In 2005 the Cuyahoga County Probate Court in Cleveland appointed Rebecca to serve as the successor guardian for an incompetent ward’s estate. After she deducted her court approved attorney fees, Rebecca held $16,972.38 of the ward’s remaining assets in her client trust account.
None of the ward’s money was placed in a required interest-bearing account. Within six months, Rebecca withdrew all of the ward’s money from her client trust account but never used any of those funds for the ward’s benefit. Rebecca then converted the ward’s funds to her own personal use.
You have to be one despicable individual to rip-off someone that has been deemed incompetent. Even the Mafia didn’t engage in this type of egregious misconduct. Of course most Mafia members had more class than Rebecca!
Because Attorney Misfits in Ohio are held to a much lower standard than everyone else, Rebecca was never charged with stealing her client’s money, which is a 3rd degree felony when the victim is disabled.
Rebecca’s Hyperbolic (BS) Defenses
Here we have Rebecca using the same worn out excuse of suffering from depression and dependence on alcohol as the reason she screwed an incompetent ward.
As expected, the Morons sitting on Disciplinary Counsel and the Ohio Supreme Court granted Rebecca mitigation for putting forth these BS reasons for engaging in outrageous misconduct.
As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologetic cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Rebecca by gifting her with a six-month suspension of her law license.
As we speak (ca. May 2012) Rebecca practices law at 72 Public Square in Cleveland, Ohio
