The state of North Carolina presented Gina Elisa Essey with a law license in 2008 after she graduated from the Campbell University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Gina guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to promptly disburse earned fees
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Failed to perform quarterly trust account reviews
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the North Carolina State Bar punished Gina by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the North Carolina Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Renee.
