Attorney Deanna Steinbach of West Des Moines, IA; serial drunken convict

 

The state of Iowa presented Deanna Kay Steinbach with a law license in 2017 after she graduated from the University of Iowa School of Law.

 

The Iowa Supreme Court Disciplinary Board found Deanna guilty of engaging the following misconduct.

 

Deanna’s May 12, 2019 Drunken Escapade

  • Arrested for Public Intoxication and Interference with Official Acts
  • Refused several commands to get into squad car after being arrested
  • While walking through a crosswalk when she wasn’t supposed to, Deanna fell on the ground
  • Deanna attempted to run away and had impaired balance, slurred speech, bloodshot watery eyes, smelled strongly of booze and refused to speak to arresting officer
  • Subsequently, plead guilty to both criminal charges

Deanna’s May 25, 2019 Drunken Escapade

  • Arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated (OWI)
  • While off duty Altoona Officer was driving behind Deanna, he observed her driving all over the road, driving into oncoming traffic, and hitting the curbs
  • Refused to do Filed Sobriety Testing
  • Refused to give a breath sample on the Datamaster
  • Pled guilty to driving while intoxicated and sentenced to three days in jail

Deanna’ July 7, 2019 Drunken Escapade

  • Arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), Open Container, and Improper Use of Lanes
  • When officers caught up with Deanna’s vehicle, she was in right lane on Interstate 29 northbound and went over the fog line and drove on the shoulder
  • Deputies smelled odor of booze coming from Deanna’s breath, eyes were bloodshot and watery, he speech was slurred, and balance unsteady
  • Failed SFSTs and blew a .189% BAC
  • Inside Deanna’s car, deputies found empty bottle of wind on passenger floorboard
  • Deputies also found empty bottle of rum sitting next to Deanna’s cell phone
  • Pled guilty to driving while intoxicated and Open Contain and sentenced to five days in jail

Deanna’s August 2, 2019 Drunken Escapade

 

While her three criminal matters as set forth above were pending, Chief judge of the Third Judicial District Duane Hoffmeyer informed disciplinary authorities of additional drinking problems involving Deanna

June 6, 2019, dean found smelling of booze, slurred speech, sleeping [passed out] on couch during working hours and arrangements had to be made to take her home

 

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Dianne by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

 

As we speak (ca. September 2021), Deanna practices her brand of law when and if she is sober with the Lipman Law Firm at 1454 30th Street in West Des Moines, Iowa.
