Attorney Michael Torphy of Milwaukee, WI; lying scammer

The state of Wisconsin presented Michael F. Torphy with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to promptly inform his client of case developments
• Failed to inform his client of the receipt of discovery requests from opposing counsel
• Failed to advise client of developments related to discovery-imposed deadlines
• Failed to file a witness list by the deadline established in a court scheduling order
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
• Made misrepresentations [lied] to his client about the timing and substance of his knowledge about the client’s grievance against his prior attorney
• Misrepresented to his client his representation of the attorney his client had filed an ethics complaint against while representing the client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2021), Mikey practices his brand of law with the Law Offices of Michael F. Torphy at 536 North 27^th Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
