Attorney Herbert Lindenbaum of New York City; convicted tax cheat

The state of New York presented Herbert G. Lindenbaum with a law license in 1962 after he graduated from the Brooklyn School of Law.

The Appellate Division, First Department Grievance Committee found Herbie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Pled guilty in federal court to tax evasion
• Directed to pay $3,392,211.00 in restitution for his unpaid tax liability for the tax years of 1999 through 2013

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the First Department Grievance Committee punished Herbie by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.
