Attorney Jeffrey Leighton of New York City; scamming fraudster

The state of New York presented Leslie Ann Thomas-Riggs with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from the Georgetown University School of Law.

The Appellate Division, First Department Grievance Committee found Jeff guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Fabricated and falsely entered 94.8 hours into his law firm’s billing records
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Intended to and did "deceive his colleagues and his firm about how busy he was
  • Engaged in a pattern of making false entries into the firm's internal billing records

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the First Department Grievance Committee punished Jeff by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2021), Jeff practices his brand of law at 55 Broadway in New York, New York.
