Attorney Philip Proctor of Newark, OH; ethical troll

The state of Ohio presented Philip L. Proctor with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.

FYI: Cooley is ranked as the worst or one of the worst law schools in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools. Proof of such a ranking is the fact that Donald Trump’s former attorney and fixer was none other than convicted felon Michael Cohen.

The Disciplinary Counsel found Phil guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Made allegations of impropriety against his opposing counsel and the trial judge either while knowing the allegations to be false or with reckless disregard of their truth or falsity
  • Engaged in undignified or discourteous conduct that was degrading to a tribunal
  • Made statements concerning the qualifications or integrity of a judicial officer either while knowing them to be false or with reckless disregard of their truth or falsity
  • Failed to maintain a respectful attitude toward the courts
  • Refused to acknowledge the wrongful nature of his conduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished by Phil by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2021), Phil continues to practice his brand of law in Newark, Ohio.
