Rep. Jim “Gymmy” Jordan (R-OH): Today’s “Blockhead” Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Gymmy. In the past, he has been the recipient of sixteen (16) Awards, which are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by visiting the listed category.

Gymmy is another loser lawyer that learned early on just how difficult it would be to earn a dishonest living practicing law after he graduated from Capitol University School of Law in Columbus, Ohio. This led Gymmy to go into the second most ethical profession (used car salesman No. 1) in the country, politics.

FYI: Capitol is ranked as the 177th best law school in the country out of 202 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

In furtherance of his ongoing efforts to establish his bona fides as a Dimwit and Totally Incompetent attorney, Gymmy decided to speak about the Founding Fathers as it relates to stay-at-home orders to combat COVID-19.

Towards that end, Gymmy spewed for the following asinine comments via his Twitter account.

  • “60 million Americans are subject to a stay-at-home order or curfew.”
  • “11 million are right here in Ohio.”
  • "What would the Founders say?”

George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Thomas Jefferson were all products of the Enlightenment who believed in science and progress unlike Gymmy and his fellow GOP comrades. In fact, they used the science available at the time to battle infectious disease outbreaks as evidenced by President Washington’s first State of the Union address to Congress in January 1790 when he stated the following.

  • “There is nothing which can better deserve your patronage, than the promotion of Science and Literature.”
  • “Knowledge is in every country the surest basis of public happiness.”

The History Channel notes how President Washington “was fighting a war on two fronts: one for independence from the British, and a second for survival against smallpox.”

The smallpox pandemic caused Washington to order the inoculation (vaccination) of all American troops who were sickened with smallpox. This action resulted in the first massive, government-funded immunization campaign in American history.

Unfortunately, while Gymmy attended Graham High School, the University of Wisconsin, and Capital University Law School, none of those institutions offered any classes in history.

As we speak (ca. January 2021), Gymmy continues to embarrass himself and his constituents while sitting as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
