Attorney Matthew Piatt of Indianapolis, IN; serial drunk

The state of Indiana presented Matthew Clay Piatt with a law license in 2015 after he graduated from the University of Indiana School of Law.

The Indiana Disciplinary Commission found Matty guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to respond in a timely manner to the Commission’s demands for information (Screw you, said Matty!)
  • Committed criminal acts that reflect adversely on the lawyer’s trustworthiness or fitness as a lawyer
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Arrested five (5) times between April 2017 and August 2018 for offenses involving public intoxication and operating a vehicle while intoxicated

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. January 2021), Matty practices with Faegre Baker Daniels at 300 North Meridian Street in Indianapolis, Indiana.
