Attorney Heather Hodgson of Denver, CO; drunken convict

The state of Colorado presented Heather S. Hodgson with a law license in 2001 after she graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law.

Disciplinary Counsel found Heather guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed for more than four months to turn over client file to his new counsel
  • Pled guilty to driving under the influence (DUI, with one prior offense
  • Sentenced to 14 days in jail on 2nd DUI
  • Knowingly disobeyed an obligation under the rules of a tribunal
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Failed to protect client’s interest upon termination
  • Failed to return client papers to client upon being terminated
  • Failed to promptly comply with client information requests
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
Failed to give client notice that representation ended or that she would not complete any additional work on his legal matter

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Heather by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 30-day suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Heather.

As we speak (ca. January 2021), Heather practices her brand of law at 4725 South Monaco Street in Denver, Colorado.
