Attorney Ric Dale of Clinton, IA; slacker, repeat offender

The state of Iowa presented Ric J. Dale with a law license in 2007 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

The Iowa Supreme Court Disciplinary Board found Ricky guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as an assistant county attorney.

Ricky’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to take any action on client appeal
• Neglected client legal matter
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Ricky by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand. 

Ricky’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to expedite client litigation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to comply with appellate deadlines which resulted in client’s case being dismissed
• Knowingly made a false statement of fact or law to a tribunal
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, dishonesty, deceit, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Ricky by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license. 

As we speak (ca. January 2021), Ricky practices his brand of law at 719 South 2^nd Street in Clinton, Iowa.
