Judge Eric Shuck of Beckley, WV; dimwitted scofflaw

The state of West Virginia provided Eric Shuck with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from the University of West Virginia School of Law.

The West Virginia Judicial Investigation Commission found Judge Shuck guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to act in manner promoting public confidence in the integrity of the judiciary
  • Failed to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
  • Abused the prestige of his judicial office to advance his personal or economic interests or allowed others to do so
  • Failed to perform judicial duties competently (dimwit)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Improperly visited litigant homes to secure personal property in a contempt proceeding

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Investigation Commission punished Eric by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. January 2021), Joshua continues to practice his so-called brand of jurisprudence as a 13th Family Circuit Court Judge in Beckley, West Virginia.
