Former Judge Nadine Allen of Cincinnati; ethical troll

The state of Ohio presented Nadine Lovelace Allen with a law license in 1977 after she graduated from Capitol University of Akron School of Law.

The Disciplinary Board found Nadine guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while she was employed as a Hamilton County Municipal Court judge.  

• Appeared on the bench in her courtroom to add realism to a television commercial being produced for a law firm
• In the 30-second commercial, which was televised numerous times over 7-weeks, Naden does not speak, but she does appear on the bench in judicial robes with her name plate visible during the last six seconds of the production
• During the six seconds, four persons, members of the law firm, approach one side of the bench and hand Naden a document, which she appears to review while the four persons turn and look toward the camera with pleased expressions.
• Failed to observe high standards of conduct to preserve integrity of the judiciary
• Failed to avoid impropriety or the appearance of impropriety
• Improperly lend prestige of her judicial office to advance the private interests of others
• Appearance in ad for lar firm had the potential to lead viewers of the ad to believe that the law firm had a special relationship with Naden

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished by Nadine by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2020), Nadine practices her brand of law at 10164 Kingsport Drive in Cincinnati, Ohio.
