Former prosecutor Jacque Spradling of Topeka, KS; ethical troll

The state of Kansas presented Jacque Spradling with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law.

The Kansas Board of Attorney Discipline is investigating Jacque for engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while she was employed as the Shawnee County District Attorney.

• Appellate court criticized Jacque for misleading a jury about the defendant violating a protection order, which did not exist
• Accused of saying things during her opening and closing arguments in a criminal matter that were not supported by evidence
• In a sexual assault case, Jacque made unsupported statements during her closing arguments
• Due to Jacque’s misconduct, murder and rape convictions were overturned by the Court of Appeal
• In the double murder case involving Dana Chandler, Jacque made seven (7) errors, including her false claim that Chandler’s ex-husband had obtained a protection order for his abuse of her when in fact no such order ever existed
• In the trial Jacob Ewing, Jacque misstated evidence about DNA and lied that one of the victims was “low-functioning”

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. January 2021), Jacque practices her brand of law as the Bourbon County Attorney in Fort Scott, Kansas, and assistant Allen County Attorney in Iola, Kansas.
