Former Judge Robert Tamietti of Nevada City, CA; bully, repeat offender

The state of California provided Robert Lynn Tamietti with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the University of Utah School of Law.

FYI: Former Gov. Gray Davis was duped into appointing Bobby as a Nevada County Superior Court Judge in 2003. Bobby didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Nevada County area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The California Commission on Judicial Performance found Bobby guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a Nevada County Superior Court Judge in Nevada City, California.

Bobby’s 1st bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in making discourteous remarks about an attorney who was unfortunately enough to have appeared before him in a civil case
  • Misconduct aggravated by the fact that Bobby had participated in the judicial commission’s mentoring program to address demeanor issues

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Bobby by gifting him with an advisory letter.

Bobby’s 2nd bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

  • Violated his duties to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
  • Failed to act in a manner that promotes public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary
  • Failed to be patient, dignified, and courteous while acting in a judicial capacity
  • Failed to refrain from speech and conduct that would reasonably be perceived as bias or prejudice
  • Sent out disparaging emails about District Attorney Newell
  • Failed to respect and comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Improperly responded to a filing of a peremptory challenge for his removal from a pending matter, which is mandatory under the California Rules of Court
  • Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) communications
  • Engaged in conduct that was inconsistent with the proper role of a judge as a neutral arbiter
  • Bobby’s conduct conveyed the appearance of bias against the Nevada County District Attorney’s Office

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. August 2021), it is rumored that after he resigned in late October 2020 that Bobby submitted an application for a job as a greeter at the Walmart Supercenter Store located at 1131 North Beale Road in Marysville, California.
