Judge Lisa Woodard of Fort Worth, TX; ethical troll
The State Commission on Judicial Conduct found Lisa guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.
-
Conveyed or permitted others to convey the impression that they are in a special position to influence her
-
Failed to conduct all of her extrajudicial activities so that they did not cast reasonable doubt on her capacity to act as an impartial judge
-
Failed to refrain from financial and business dealing that tend to reflect adversely on her impartiality
-
Shared on her Facebook page a post and photo of her longtime friend Fort Worth City Councilwoman Kelly Allen Gray with a hashtag used by Ms. Gray’s political supporters
-
On Fort Worth City Council election day, Lisa “liked” a post that tagged Ms. Gray’s Facebook page, which included a photo of someone with Ms. Gray’s campaign signs
-
In November 2017, Lisa appeared at court for mediation in cases that were pending in her court, and while there Ms. Gray gave a campaign donation check for Lisa to one of the court’s administrative clerks
As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Lisa by gifting her with a complimentary public warning.
As we speak (ca. April 2021), Lisa continues to sit as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 8 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.
