Former Judge Bill Metzger of Plano, TX; ethical gremlin

The State of Texas provided William Jason Metzger with a law license in 2015 after he graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) School of Law.

The State Commission on Judicial Conduct found Judge Metzger guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while Billy was sitting as a Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, Place 2, Mesquite, Dallas County, Texas.

  • Failed to be faithful to the law
  • Failed to maintain professional competence in the law (dimwit)
  • Engaged in willful or persistent conduct that was clearly inconsistent with the proper performance of his judicial duties
  • Brought discredit upon the judiciary and/or the administration of justice
  • Improperly instructed his staff to not accept applications for writs of possession after 3:30 P.M., or before 10:30 A.M.
  • Failed to forward David Hoing’s notice of appeal of the denial of his pauper’s affidavit to the county court
  • Illegally issued a writ of possession after Mr. Hoing had timely perfected his appeal
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Billy!)
  • Cast public discredit on the judiciary by removing political candidate Jim Phaup’s campaign sign on the Billy’s neighbor’s property

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary public warning.

As we speak (ca. April 2021), Billy practices his brand of law 2701 West Plano Parkway in Plano, Texas.
